FreeImmigration Conversations Fall 2026: What you need to know about recent changes in immigration law, maintaining your status, travel, and your immigration journey after graduation.
Beginning September 15, 2026, the current system of Duration of Status (D/S) is scheduled to be replaced by a system that generally provides a specific end date for an individual's authorized stay in the United States.
CIE will be hosting an in-person immigration information session and Q&A to discuss this rule change and how it may affect current international students. The session is particularly geared toward internationals in F-1 and J-1 status, but all internationals are welcome to attend.
The session will feature Kathleen Gasparian (of Gasparian Spivey Immigration) as well as CIE staff to discuss the rule change and answer students' questions.
