Loyola Intensive English Program

The Loyola Intensive English Program (LIEP) opened in 1976 and provides high quality English as a second language (ESL) courses for students who want an innovative learning experience in a unique and academically-focused program.  

LIEP currently offers only Intermediate and Advanced level intensive English courses.

The Pilot program is a hybrid program consisting of academic and English courses. Students admitted to Loyola University through the Pilot Program take two 3-credit university courses and two 3-credit Pilot intensive English courses in their first semester at Loyola. All credits apply toward the student's degree. To participate in the Pilot Program, students must apply directly to the Loyola University Degree Program of their choice.
