Bio
Em joined the Center for International Education as Office Manager in May 2022, where they work to assist incoming international students and manage the daily operations for the Center. Prior to working at Loyola, they spent nearly six years in retail management.
Em holds a B.A. in both English and in Classics from the University of Mississippi, with concentrations in Creative Writing and Classical Civilizations, respectively. They graduated as part of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College and have published an undergraduate thesis anthology of short fiction and poetry.
Em and their partner moved down to the New Orleans area in late 2019, and although they have some local family, they are excited to experience the Big Easy (especially its restaurants and foodways) in person. Em can be described as a nerd jack-of-all-trades with interests in tabletop and video gaming, film, animation, indie comics, baking, and gardening. Ask them about their cat!
